Many companies like AT&T and Verizon are upgrading their routers to multi-service gateways.  This allows for their U-Verse and FIOS packages (TV, Internet, and phone) to use the same broadband connections.  However, when they implement these gateways they restrict changes to the DNS in the interface by removing it entirely or disabling the feature. There are ways around this.  The use of a 3rd party network device (firewall or router) to configure the DNS is the simplest method. A configuration of the settings in the setup of each device's network interface card/wireless card with the DNSWatch DNS servers directly will also work.
